Stamp Brush in Procreate
Today’s tutorial is a procreate tutorial on how to create stamp brushes. We’ll learn to create a couple of cute brushes and then I’ll show you how you can share them as well. You can use this technique to create your own brushes and even sell them on a marketplace.
To make a stamp brush you would need:
• An iPad with Procreate installed
• An Apple Pencil to draw with
Pin it for later!
Let’s first open a canvas which needs to be a square (this is really important as if you do not use a square canvas, the brush will be distorted). You can use the default one that comes with procreate.
Let’s now click on background and change it to black. You should do this if you want a stamp with no background.
Next, take a brush that you want (use monoline if you want a brush with clean edges) and draw a simple figure. I have used Inking > dry ink for my brushes as I like the grainy texture of this brush.
If you are terrible at drawing, you can use a reference image from the web. Just import the photo into procreate, reduce the opacity, create a new layer and draw the outlines, hide the reference photo.
Once you are done drawing your brush, click on share > JPEG to export it.
Now let’s click on Brushes > + , to create a new folder for our brushes. It’s important to create separate folders, so that later if you want to share them, it is much easier to share the entire folder. It also keeps things neat and organized.
Click on new brush, go to shape > import, import the new JPEG that you just created
Follow the tutorial to check rest of the steps.
Now if you want to create another stamp brush, just swipe the already created brush right, click Duplicate. Now click on shape and import the new shape. You don’t have to change any other setting as the settings will be carried from the old brush.
You can also use this to create custom logo stamps or watermarks!
